Upcoming Programs at Law Career Services

February is a busy month here at Career Services so we wanted to remind you of some featured events we are participating in. These events invovle everything from mandatory preparation for Mock Interview Program Participation to practicing your Networking for Practice Tracks and more and we hope to see you all at one or more!

Creating Effective Connections: TODAY and following Wednesdays, February 8th and 15th: 11:45am-12:45pm 904 Lewis plus Thursday, February 16th at 3:30pm: Learn how to work a room, create and retain strategic connections, optimize mock and informational interviews, manage your social media, and more... This program will be helpful for upcoming events such as Practice Tracks (February 16) and Career Week (Starting February 19th). ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY for the Mock Interview Program (March 5-9). Patent Bar 101: TOMORROW, Thursday, February 9th, 11:50am Rm. 343: Join the Center for Intellectual Property Law & Information Technology and Law Career Services for a Patent Bar 101 discussion with John M. White of the Practising Law Institute. Lunch will be provided so please RSVP on Symplicity (RSVPs not required to Attend).Mock Interview Program: Don't miss out on this great opportunity to gain real-world interview experience! During the week of March 5-9, you'll have the chance to network, develop valuable interviewing skills and receive feedback from attorneys by participating in mock interviews. Mock interviews occur throughout the week, usally at the interviewer's place of employment, and at a variety of times.  Registration will take place February 13-24 via Symplicity (look for details in upcoming newsletters, the LCS blog, and emails). TO PARTICIPATE, you must have 1) an Approved Resume and 2) Attendance at Creating Effective Connections (LCS Program Presented by Assistant Director Bonnie Tunick). SBA and LCS Student Panel: Finding Summer Jobs and Making the Most of Them: Tuesday, February 14, 2012 15:50am-12:50pm Rm 803. Pizza Lunch will be served.

Practice Tracks: Thursday, February 16th from 5:00-6:30pm: Attorneys representing approximately 50 different practice areas will be at the Chicago Bar Association to meet students and discuss their areas of expertise. Join your fellow students and attorneys for an afternoon of informational interviewing and networking. Attend Creating Connections that afternoon and walk over with Assistant Director Bonnie Tunick.
