City of Chicago Department of Law: 2012 Summer Law Clerk Program

The City of Chicago Department of Law is pleased to offer its 2012 Law Clerk Program, a summer opportunity for qualified law students.  The position begins June 1st, continues for a minimum of 10 weeks, and is unpaid.  Deadline to apply is March 2, 2012.

Participants will have the opportunity to assist in trial preparation, attend depositions, observe real estate closings, and more.  Law clerks having completed their second year of law school and qualified for an Illinois Supreme Court Rule 711 license may have additional opportunities.  These include representing the City in mandatory tort arbitrations in the Circuit Court of Cook County, labor arbitration, and disciplinary hearings for the police and labor boards.
