Government Honors & Internship Handbook Updates

The list of upcoming deadlines in the Government Honors & Internship Handbook (see Symplicity for the login/password information) was not created this week due to the volume of changes made to various individual entries.  Please check out the Tables by Deadline in the Handbook to make sure you aren't missing any deadlines.  There is also great information on seeking positions in other regions and levels of government in the Government Job Search Guide in the Symplicity Document Library.

MPILCC is coming!

The Midwest Public Interest Law Career Conference is coming on Saturday, February 5th! Even if you did not pre-register, you can attend and bid for interviews on-site.  Student registration opens at 7:30 a.m. and all students with interviews must check-in before 8:30 a.m. or their interviews will be forfeited.  For those early birds (whether registering on-site or checking in from preregistration), you will receive a lottery number which will enable you to bid for open interview slots.

YLS Lunch with a Judge - February 3
You’re invited to have lunch with the Hon. William D. Maddux Presiding Judge, Law Division, Circuit Court of Cook County, on Thursday, February 3, 2011, at 12:15 p.m., at the CBA. The Judge will discuss courtroom decorum and how young lawyers can practice successfully in Court. Event includes free pizza lunch. You must be a CBA member or law student member to attend and you must register in advance of the lunch. Limit 100 persons. Register now

Bergstrom Foundation Child Welfare Law Summer Fellowship Program

The University of Michigan Law School and the Bergstrom Foundation are sponsoring a Child Welfare Law Summer Fellowship Program where students are brought to Ann Arbor for three days of training (May 23-25, 2011) before they begin their summer work at a child welfare law office.  Students who have completed their first year of law school but who have not yet graduated are eligible.  Applications are due February 4, 2011.
