2011 Pro Bono Week: Kindness to Strangers

Pro Bono Week: YLS Pro Bono and Community Service Fair - October 25
Meet with representatives from 50 of Chicago’s legal aid, pro bono and community service organizations to network with likeminded professionals and uncover the volunteer opportunity you have been seeking. Anti-Terrorism and the Rule of Law with Chief Justice of Canada Beverly McLachlin - October 26
Join the CBA and the John Marshall Law School in welcoming Chief Justice of Canada Beverly McLachlin to Chicago on Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at 11:30 a.m., at the Standard Club.  Pro Bono Week: Breakfast with a Judge - October 28
Members of the judiciary will lead conversations about pro bono in our community and all participants will have the opportunity to contribute their thoughts and ideas. The complimentary event will be held at 8:00 a.m. at the CBA Building. Register now

Sampling of the Music of George and Ira Gershwin - October 28
Join the CBA Barristers Big Band on October 28 at 6:00 p.m. for a fabulous romp through some of the best known and loved works of George and Ira A Gershwin.  The free concert will highlight many gems from the numerous Broadway musicals scored by the Gershwin brothers, including Strike up the Band, Lady Be Good and Someone to Watch Over Me.  Movie musicals favorites will also be on the concert bill, including A Foggy Day in London, Nice Work if You Can Get It, 'Swonderful and How Long Has This Been Going On?  And, no Gershwin concert would be complete without selections from Porgy and Bess, with the Band debuting an original arrangement of Bess You is My Woman. The concert will be held at the Harold Washington Library Center, Cindy Pritzker Auditorium, 400 South State St., Chicago. Admission is FREESee PDF.
