FERP ORIENTATION! If you are interested in participating in the Fall Employer Recruitment Program (FERP) to bid for various private and public interest opportunities, you must attend FERP Orientation (if you've attended in the past, you will not be required to do so again). The final session will be held on Monday, April 11, 2011, 4:45-5:45 PM, 241 Lewis. 

The 1L Meet the Employers Reception will be held on Thursday, April 14th from 4:30-7:00 p.m. in the DePaul Center Concourse (lower level). This will be your opportunity to meet with more than 30 local employrers, many of whom participate in FERP or MPILCC (Midwest Public Interest Law Career Conference, held in February). RSVP in Symplicity today!  Also, while you are dressed up in your suits, please stop by the office during the day and we'll take a new headshot of you for your LinkedIn or other profiles.  Check out this blog post for more information on spring cleaning your LinkedIn profile.

The deadline for submitting the 2011 Equal Justice Works Summer Corps application has been extended to 11:59 p.m. EDT on Sunday, April 10, 2011. All other requirements for the application will remain the same. You can log into the Summer Corps Application Manager to complete the application.

The National Black Prosecutors Association Annual Job Fair will be held on Tuesday, July 26th at the Minneapolis Marriott City Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Job fair participants can find more information about registration here. If lodging is needed, the Minneapolis Marriott City Center has extended a special room rate. To make reservations, interviewees should call the Minneapolis Marriott City Center at (612) 349-4000 . Please note that the Minneapolis Marriott City Center will not accept reservations under the NBPA conference block of rooms at the discounted rate until you are a registered job fair participant , therefore; job fair participants must register for the Job Fair prior to making hotel reservations.

REPORT YOUR SERVICE HOURS!! The deadline for reporting your service hours to the Pro Bono & Community Service Initiative (PBCSI) is Tuesday, April 12, 2011! If you have volunteered or are currently volunteering, do not forget to report your service hours at http://www.law.depaul.edu/pbcsi. By reporting your pro bono hours, you allow DePaul to accurately track the number of volunteer hours donated by College of Law students. Tracking your hours also makes you eligible to receive a service award in the spring (the PBCSI Reporting and Award Guidelines can be found at http://www.law.depaul.edu/pbcsi). This recognition should be added to your resume and celebrate your accomplishments and service at the Pro Bono & Community Service Initiative's Annual Service Reception and Awards Ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, April 21, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Rare Book Room.  If you'd like to become involved, or have questions, please email Cheryl Price at cprice13@depaul.edu to be added to her weekly email updates.

Sterling Education Services, Inc. is a non-profit continuing education company that conducts seminars across the nation and is offering 5 free student scholarships to attend their Landlord-Tenant Law seminar in Rockford, Illinois on May 4, 2011. Recipients receive a day-long overview of this area of law, a seminar manual, and an opportunity to network with practicing attorneys. Students must register before the seminar via phone or email. No walk-ins will be allowed. Only current law students may take advantage of these passes and MUST provide their student id number or other proof of enrollment in order to register.  (DO NOT REGISTER ONLINE -- you must register via phone or email). JUDICIAL CLERKSHIP PROGRAMMING: Are you interested in pursuing a judicial clerkship? Make sure you attend this upcoming programming to help you think out your approach from A(pplication) to R(ecommenders), and everything in between. The Document Library in Symplicity also includes not just the Judicial Clerkship Guide but also a list of DePaul judges (please note, this was updated last fall, before the last set of elections).
